Passenger traffic increased sharply at Samarkand International Airport
Samarkand International Airport broke a historical record in the first half of 2023, serving almost 440,000 passengers. This is 121.4% or 241,080 passengers more than in the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the airport.

It is noted that the increase in passenger traffic is associated with an increase in the efficiency of the leading carriers and the attraction of new partners: in 2023, 2 foreign airlines (Jazeera Airways, A / K Pobeda) and the new regional airline of Uzbekistan Silk Avia fly from Samarkand Airport to Tashkent, Bukhara and Urgench .

The main growth in passenger traffic fell on international destinations: almost 394,000 passengers were served on these flights (+116.9%). Flights from Samarkand to Moscow, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Dubai and Abu Dhabi were the most popular in the first half of 2023.
