Payment Rates for Excess Electricity and Gas Consumption Changed
Uzbekistan
The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution No. 894 dated December 27, 2024, titled "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Government Resolutions in Connection with the Expansion of Renewable Energy Sources and the Systematic Implementation of Tariff Reforms."
According to this resolution, if legal entities exceed their contractual electricity or natural gas consumption by 20% or more during the billing period, they will be charged 1.2 times the established tariff rate.
Previously, legal entities were subject to 2- and 3-fold tariff rates for exceeding contractual consumption levels.
In August 2024, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs that a policy would be introduced for business entities, allowing basic tariff rates to remain even if electricity and gas consumption exceeds the limit by up to 20%.
Instead of information: This policy applies only to business entities and does not affect household consumers.
