Peskov Denies Trump's Claims on "Losses"

The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, stated during a briefing with Kremlin journalists that “the actual numbers of losses are completely different.”
“The reported figures on losses are based on Ukraine's perspective and reflect its official position. The real numbers of losses are entirely different. Ukraine’s losses far exceed those of Russia by multiple times,” Peskov said.
Additionally, Peskov dismissed the possibility of negotiations with Ukraine, referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s firm stance on the matter.
“It is important to note here that it is Ukraine that has refused and continues to refuse negotiations. Moreover, Zelensky issued a decree prohibiting himself and his administration from any contact with the Russian leadership. Their position remains unchanged. Meanwhile, for a peaceful resolution, Zelensky only needs to repeal this decree and give orders to resume dialogue based on the Istanbul agreements, taking into account the realities on the ground,” Peskov was quoted as saying by the official Kremlin portal.
Earlier, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump stated that Zelensky seeks to reach a deal to end the war and claimed that Ukraine had lost 400,000 people while Russia had lost 600,000.
Later, Zelensky provided different figures on losses: according to him, Russia has lost 750,000 people in the war in Ukraine, with 198,000 killed and over 550,000 wounded. Zelensky estimated Ukraine’s losses at 43,000 dead and 370,000 cases of “medical assistance to the wounded".
