Political
At the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan on April 3–4.
During the visit, Tokayev is expected to participate in the "Central Asia – European Union" summit in Samarkand and hold several important meetings.
This international event is being held for the first time and is expected to be a significant occasion that will define the prospects for cooperation and stability not only in Central Asia but also in the broader Eurasian region.
The fact that Uzbekistan has been chosen as the host country for the summit is another testament to the nation's growing prestige on the international stage. During the event, key agreements may be signed between the European Union and Central Asian countries regarding economic cooperation, trade relations, investment, and transport logistics.
In recent years, the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has significantly strengthened. Bilateral trade turnover continues to grow, and major projects in the transport and energy sectors are being implemented.
It is anticipated that important agreements on the next stage of Uzbek-Kazakh relations will be reached during Tokayev’s visit. Additionally, initiatives aimed at enhancing regional integration may be proposed at the summit.
Thus, on April 3–4, Samarkand will become a crucial political platform at both regional and international levels.
