On September 29, as part of his practical visit to Germany, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a meeting of leaders of Central Asian countries with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The press service of the head of Uzbekistan reported this.

It is noted that the event was also attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the national leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the meeting, the head of Uzbekistan specifically touched upon the prospects for cooperation in the “Central Asia – Germany” format. Particular attention is paid to priority areas of practical cooperation, primarily high technologies and innovative development, transport communications, “green” energy, vocational education, active cultural and scientific exchanges.

“It was noted with great satisfaction that leading German companies and banks are expanding their activities in Uzbekistan. It was noted that among our youth there is a growing interest in the German language - today in our country about 300 thousand schoolchildren and students study it. During the conversation, the Federal President of Germany congratulated the leader of Uzbekistan on the successful holding of a unique cultural and historical exhibition in the world famous James Simon Gallery in Berlin. Over the course of several months, the exhibition was visited by 200 thousand Berliners and guests of the German capital,” the statement says.
