Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan highlight successful outcomes of the negotiations

Following the productive negotiations at the Kuksaroy Residence, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made statements to the representatives of mass media.

The leader of our country noted with deep satisfaction that the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan was a historic event and marked an important milestone in the development of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance.

During the visit, the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council was held, where key aspects of the bilateral agenda were discussed.
Priority attention was given to the issues of economic cooperation. It was noted that Kazakhstan is one of Uzbekistan’s significant trade partners.

Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has grown by 15 percent, reaching nearly $4 billion. Comprehensive work is underway to brings its volume to $10 billion by 2030. An important event of the visit has been the opening of the Central Asia International Center for Industrial Cooperation.

This flagship project aims to deepen cooperation ties between our countries and form modern value-added chains.

New projects in priority areas with a total value of $1.3 billion have also been launched.

Furthermore, key areas for the development of transport connectivity were discussed in detail. It was agreed to jointly develop modern transport corridors, enhance the efficiency of border infrastructure, and promote shipping, including through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk.

Cooperation in the energy sector, including the promotion of joint projects in traditional and alternative energy, has been identified as a strategic area.

The sides will also develop cooperation in environmental protection and rational water use, primarily in the Central Asian region.

Significant attention is paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. This year, the Lazgi ballet, an artists’ exhibition, a writers’ forum, and a youth festival were successfully held in Almaty and Astana. The Kazakhstan Medicine Days in Uzbekistan generated significant interest and a warm response from our citizens.

An agreement was reached to intensify exchanges between scientific and educational institutions, creative and youth organizations, as well as to expand joint tourism programs.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening regional cooperation. In this context, the key role of the Consultative meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia format was noted.

It was particularly emphasized that the upcoming seventh Consultative meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia to be held tomorrow in Tashkent will give new momentum to the regional integration and the unity across Central Asia.

The importance of continuing mutual support on multilateral platforms was noted, including the United Nations, SCO, CIS, the Organization of Turkic States, and the Central Asia Plus formats.

The visit of the esteemed Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich has once again clearly confirmed the high level of allied relations between our countries, - noted the Leader of Uzbekistan.

In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the agreements reached and the documents signed will bring tangible substance to the bilateral partnership, open new horizons for joint projects, and create a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the two brotherly states.
