President's speech at the informal OTS summit

At the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States held on May 21 in Budapest, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward a number of strategic initiatives, calling for the intensification of economic and cultural ties between the fraternal countries.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of strengthening unity against the backdrop of global instability and expressed support for the peaceful settlement of conflicts, including the situation in Ukraine and Gaza. Mirziyoyev specifically noted Turkey's contribution to peace efforts and proposed signing a Treaty on Strategic Partnership of Turkic States in Baku.
Among Uzbekistan's initiatives are the creation of the "TURK-TREAD" online platform, the launch of a Unified Investment Portal, the holding of the International Transport and Logistics Forum in Tashkent, as well as the establishment of a joint venture company and the development of an industrial cooperation program.
An important attention was paid to environmental issues: it was proposed to create a roadmap for drought prevention, as well as to intensify the work of the Institute for Drought Prevention in Budapest. The opening of the International University of Turkic States in Tashkent and the upcoming meeting of the Council of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in Uzbekistan are also announced.
Special attention was paid to spiritual and cultural unity. The Alisher Navoi International Prize was awarded to Nobel laureate Aziz Sanjar. According to Mirziyoyev, such events inspire the youth of the Turkic world to new achievements.
