U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff said in an interview with Fox News that a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could take place within the next three weeks. He expressed hope that “good news” may emerge soon.
Witkoff noted that U.S. President Donald Trump could potentially join the meeting, but would only do so if there were a realistic prospect of achieving tangible results.
According to the envoy, diplomatic contacts are becoming increasingly active. He added that Washington believes it understands Russia’s position, although Kyiv disagrees with parts of the U.S. assessment.
