Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un presented each other with carbines, and the head of the Russian state also presented the guest with gloves from a space suit.
Putin and Kim Jong-un met on September 13 at the Vostochny cosmodrome, where they got acquainted with its infrastructure and held negotiations. During the dialogue, humanitarian issues, the situation in the region and other topics were discussed.
“President Putin presented the head of the DPRK with a glove from a spacesuit that had been in space many times, and presented a carbine of the highest quality, produced in our country,” the Kremlin representative said. He said that Putin would receive a “carbine made by North Korean craftsmen” as a gift from Kim Jong-un.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told reporters about this, answering a question from TASS.
“There were other gifts,” Peskov said, but did not specify which ones. He acknowledged that the Kremlin very rarely talks about gifts made at the highest level.
Let us recall that during the previous visit of the head of the DPRK to Russia, when he met with Putin in Vladivostok in 2019, the leaders also exchanged gifts. Kim Jong-un presented Putin with a Korean sword, which “represents the strength and spirit of the people.” And the Russian leader presented checkers, as well as a set of glasses with cup holders.
