Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed readiness to consider Ukraine’s proposal for a 30-day pause on strikes against civilian infrastructure, according to Euronews.

Putin signals possible talks with Ukraine over civilian strike moratorium
Speaking after the end of the Easter ceasefire, Putin described President Volodymyr Zelensky's initiative as “worth serious examination,” potentially even through direct talks. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the possibility of bilateral discussions with Kyiv.

Putin also acknowledged that Russian forces struck a civilian building in central Sumy, claiming — without providing evidence — that a military award ceremony was being held there. The attack killed 35 people and injured around 130.

Zelensky reiterated his openness to dialogue if it leads to tangible outcomes. He proposed a 30-day moratorium on long-range drone and missile strikes on civilian targets. He noted that the relative calm during Easter showed that “reducing the number of killings is possible” — if Russia chooses to.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to unveil his peace plan this week. Leaks suggest it could include territorial concessions by Ukraine and the deployment of European troops — a scenario firmly rejected by Kyiv.
