Putin urged to make having many children a norm of life
According to the Russian head of state, the region is facing "the most difficult demographic challenges," and to overcome them, it is necessary to revive the traditions of having many children in families.

"Many of our peoples, thank God, retain the tradition of a strong multi-generational family, where four, five or more children are brought up," Putin said at a meeting of the World Russian People's Council.

He recalled that several generations ago Russian families had seven or eight children, or even more. "Let us preserve and revive these wonderful traditions. Having many children and a large family should become a norm, a way of life for all peoples of Russia," Putin said.
