Ramadan Eid and Nowruz Give Uzbeks Four Days Off

Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, citizens will have up to four consecutive days off for Ramadan Eid and Nowruz.

Ramadan Eid and Nowruz Give Uzbeks Four Days Off
March 20 (Friday) is a holiday for Ramadan Eid, March 21 (Saturday) is for Nowruz, and March 22 (Sunday) is also a day off. Additionally, March 23 (Monday) will be a holiday for employees with a five-day workweek because one of the public holidays coincides with a weekend. For those working a six-day week, March 23 remains a regular workday.

Traditionally, the date of Ramadan Eid is announced by the Muslim Board, after which the President issues a decree on official holidays.

Thus, most Uzbeks will be able to enjoy extended holidays for family gatherings, rest, and participation in traditional events, while workplaces maintain schedules for employees on a six-day workweek.
