Reformist Pezeshkian leads in the counting of votes in Iran's presidential election.
Reformist Masoud Pezeshkian has regained the lead in Iran's snap presidential election, beating Saeed Jalili, the conservative wing candidate, the country's election commission said after counting more than 12 million votes.
Nour News Agency quoted a statement by the election commission as saying that a total of 12,058,843 votes had been counted, with Masoud Pezeshkian receiving 5,354,000 votes, Saeed Jalili receiving 4,875,269 votes, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf receiving 1,620,628 votes, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi receiving 95,172 votes.
Voting in the presidential election was held in Iran on Friday, 28 June.
