A regional meeting of payment experts of Central Banks of Central Asia and Azerbaijan was held in Baku, the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan informs.
It is reported that the participants discussed topical issues and exchanged experience in the field of payment systems, financial technologies and cyber security.
The meeting discussed the latest trends in the payment industry in Azerbaijan, the introduction of Open API and Open Banking on the example of Kazakhstan, the digitalisation of the payment system in the Kyrgyz Republic, and the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). The participants also considered the legal regulation of FinTech trends and the introduction of Open Banking in Azerbaijan.
The event was an important platform for strengthening co-operation and exchange of experience, which contributes to the development of modern financial technologies in the region. The participants worked out joint strategies for further development and integration of payment systems, and concluded agreements on continued co-operation and information exchange between central banks.
