Republic of Korea, U.S. and Japan to discuss geopolitical risks

National security advisers from the Republic of Korea, the United States and Japan will meet in Seoul this week to discuss joint responses to regional geopolitical risks, including threats from North Korea. The announcement, as reported by Yonhap News Agency, was made by South Korean Ambassador to the US Cho Hyun-dong.
Cho Tae-yong, national security adviser of the Republic of Korea, and his American and Japanese counterparts Jake Sullivan and Takeo Akiba intend to hold trilateral talks on 8-9 December.
The ambassador noted that North Korea's recent launch of a reconnaissance satellite into orbit demonstrates the need for security co-operation between the three countries.
