Russia has named a condition for resuming flights to the US

Direct air travel between Russia and the US can only be restored under one condition - if Washington withdraws the Aeroflot from sanctions.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Almaty that Moscow had already raised this issue at the negotiations in Riyadh more than a month ago, as well as at the recent meeting in Istanbul dedicated to the issues of diplomatic dialogue between the two countries.
"It should be a consequence of Aeroflot's withdrawal from sanctions," Lavrov noted, commenting on the possibility of resuming flights.
The Foreign Minister added that no official response has been received from the American side yet. "To be honest, I simply haven't had the opportunity to contact them yet. Maybe there were some movements there, but we don't know about them yet," he said.
Earlier, journalists in the US asked President Donald Trump about the prospects for the resumption of flights, but he stated that he was unaware of any details about this.
