A draft law has been submitted to the Russian State Duma to grant land free of charge to families married for more than 10 years and having children. According to the proposal, the allocated land would become jointly owned by all family members, including the parents and their children.
State Duma deputies from the LDPR led by Leonid Slutsky in Russia have submitted a bill to the chamber on the gratuitous provision of land to families married for more than 10 years and having children. This was reported by TASS.
"The Russian Liberal Democratic Party deputies headed by Leonid Slutsky have proposed to allocate land plots for individual housing construction free of charge to citizens who have been officially married for over 10 years and have children", - reads the report.
The draft amendments are to be submitted to the State Duma within 30 days after the Russian government's conclusion.
According to Slutsky, such an initiative is aimed at a gradual transition from the urbanization of megacities to the development of modern low-rise development outside the city.
"We need to move away from mindless urbanization and switch from building endless "man-houses" in major cities to modern estate development and low-rise construction. If we do that, then instead of developing a few megalopolises in Russia which are sucking people in, we will be able to develop the entire country," the LDPR leader explained.
The politician's press service also pointed out that the allocated land will become the common share property of all family members, including the parents themselves and their children.
