Samarkand launches festival of national cuisine

For the first time, Samarkand will host the "Dishes of the East" festival on March 23–24, the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee reports.
The festival will feature live demonstrations of national dishes from various peoples, tastings of the best examples of Samarkand cuisine, and culinary competitions with the participation of over 100 chefs. Participants will prepare around 50 unique dishes, allowing visitors to explore the region's diverse flavors.
Organizers note that the festival will not only be a spectacular gastronomic event but also a platform for experience exchange among chefs, promoting the cultural traditions of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries.
The festival is expected to attract both locals and tourists, offering the chance to enjoy the most vibrant culinary traditions of the East in the historic heart of Samarkand.
