Samarkand prepares for international forum on environmental issues and human rights

On June 13-14, the IV Samarkand Forum on Human Rights will take place, focusing on "Environmental issues: the future of human rights and the search for sustainable solutions in a changing world," the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NCHR) reports.
The forum will feature three plenary sessions, conducted both offline and online.
The forum will concentrate on developing concrete recommendations and solutions to mitigate the negative impact of climate change on human rights. It aims to provide a platform for experts from various fields to develop effective strategies and approaches that will help achieve Sustainable Development Goals and protect the rights of all people in a changing climate.
Approximately 200 experts are expected to participate, including domestic and international experts, climate specialists, officials from government organizations dealing with climate change, representatives from civil society institutions, media, research centres, companies, business circles, and international organizations.
