President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Brussels on an official visit. At Brussels International Airport, President Mirziyoyev was met by European Union officials, including the Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais.
The main event of the visit will be the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union. This document is expected to bring bilateral relations to a new, higher level.
Within the framework of the visit, important talks are planned between the President of Uzbekistan and key European leaders: European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. A meeting with the King of the Belgians, Philippe, will also take place, which underscores the high level of attention given to Uzbek-European relations.
The visit program also includes a roundtable discussion with representatives from leading European companies and financial structures. This visit is expected to elevate bilateral relations to a new, higher level.
