Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Jizzakh region on 8th April. The first stop on the trip was the Basalt Uzbekistan cluster in the Farish district. This was reported by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.

The cluster processes 177 thousand tonnes of basalt stone per year and produces 42 types of products, including special fibre, roving, fibre, reinforcement, composite geogrids, pipes, fabric and thermal insulation boards. In particular, 45 thousand tonnes of products worth 554 billion sums were produced last year. 80 per cent of the goods, which are in high demand in the world, were exported to the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Georgia, Russia, Türkiye, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.

Options for the application of materials in communal services, automotive industry, textile, oil and gas, and other industries were presented.

Next year, one of the enterprises of the cluster - Basfibre Trade - plans to create facilities for the production of 25,000 tons of basalt fibre and fabric per year. At the moment, equipment worth $145 million has been imported. Apart from meeting domestic needs, the new project will allow exporting 90% of the products.

Responsible persons have been tasked with placing new projects in the cluster territory totaling $500 million to produce 20 types of products with high added value. As a result, another 2,000 jobs will be created.
