Uzbek-Malaysian business forum held in Samarkand

Uzbek-Malaysian business forum and bilateral meetings in B2B and G2B formats have been held in Samarkand within the framework of the visit to Uzbekistan of the government delegation headed by Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim. This was reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that the event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, industry associations of the two countries, as well as representatives of more than 200 major Malay and Uzbek companies.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev noted that trade and economic ties with Malaysia are being strengthened in the coming years, this visit will serve to further expand cooperation, a favourable investment climate has been created in the country, legislation is being improved and an active policy of economic liberalisation is being pursued.
The business forum discussed topical issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment co-operation, as well as measures to develop industrial co-operation.
In addition, a number of documents on trade and economic co-operation were signed at the event.
In particular, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
