Shavkat Mirziyoyev: exports have not exceeded $2bn in agriculture and food industry

A video conference call on increasing investments and exports in agriculture and food industry has started under the chairmanship of the President. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state Sherzod Asadov.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that from now on the meetings will be held in the form of meetings with representatives of enterprises of each sector to discuss solutions to problems that concern them.
It is noted that last year 23 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables were produced, and the food industry produced products worth 86 trillion sums. It is estimated that this amount of products could be exported outside the country for $5 billion.
However, due to unsuccessful organisation of the work of economic, agro-industrial and governor officials, as well as failure to solve exporters' problems, exports did not exceed $2 billion.
