Shavkat Mirziyoyev invites Li Qiang to Uzbekistan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has started his state visit to the People's Republic of China with a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang.
The meeting held at the House of People's Assembly addressed issues of further expansion of multifaceted practical interaction, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.
"Last year, trade turnover increased by 50 per cent, reaching $14 billion. The potential for bringing this figure up to $20 billion has been noted, including by increasing mutual supplies of high-quality agricultural and industrial goods. The total volume of Chinese investments in Uzbekistan's economy has exceeded $14 billion," the press service of the President said.
In addition, the sides considered the prospects of deepening practical interaction with China's leading banking and financial institutions, as well as participation of Chinese companies in the privatisation processes in our country.
The sides noted the successful holding of an educational forum and Days of Uzbek Culture in China. The two sides spoke in favour of further expansion of air and tourism exchanges.
