Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardons 334 prisoners

In connection with the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan yesterday, 6 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On pardoning a group of persons serving a sentence, who have sincerely repented of their crimes and firmly set themselves on the path of correction".
Of the pardoned persons, 34 were fully released from the main punishment, 249 were granted conditional release from serving their sentences, and 6 were replaced by imprisonment for a more lenient punishment. The terms of imprisonment imposed on 45 persons were also reduced.
Among those pardoned were 18 citizens of foreign States, 23 women, 15 men over 60 years of age, and 88 persons involved in the activities of banned organizations.
