Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the anniversary summit of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the anniversary meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow on May 8 as a head of observer state. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan president.
It is reported that at the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, also participated President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as the head of observer state President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev. Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergey Lebedev also attended as a guest.
The agenda included discussions on current issues related to expanding multilateral trade and economic cooperation, supporting industrial cooperation projects, and implementing joint programs in priority areas of collaboration.
The readiness for mutual elimination of trade barriers and restrictions with the EAEU countries was confirmed. Uzbekistan initiated the accession process to the Rules of Determining the Origin of Goods from 2009.
Additionally, the Uzbekistan president highlighted the necessity of expanding cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union bodies in such important areas as:
Development of the Eurasian Agroexpress, implementation of "green" and water-saving technologies, support for the creation of joint agro-industrial clusters and logistics centers;
Development of common approaches and close cooperation in addressing climate change impacts;
Creation of favorable conditions and social guarantees for labor migrants' activities in our countries, including involvement in digital platforms;
Development of joint tourism programs and products aimed at significantly increasing tourism exchange.
