During his trip to Kashkadarya, the head of our state made an unscheduled visit to the central polyclinic of the Karshi district medical association.

The institution was built in the 60s and 70s of the last century. The hospital is designed for 228 patients, the polyclinic for 250 patients. At present it serves 243 thousand inhabitants of the district. But the conditions here do not meet such coverage and requirements of the time. There is a need to modernise some equipment.

The President visited medical wards and offices and familiarised himself with the real situation. He talked to patients who came there.

"The purpose of our visit today is to make life better for the 3.5 million people in Kashkadarya, to speed up the development of industry, agriculture and the social sphere. Passing by, I decided to find out what the state of affairs in the hospital was. Making decisions after seeing the situation personally and talking to ordinary people is my biggest goal. When medicine and education are at the right level, people will be happy. We have improved hospitals in many places. But I do not like the situation in Karshi district. Judging by what I have seen today, we have decided to build a new hospital here," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Officials were tasked with proposing the location and design of the future complex. In the future, it will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and provided with free medicines. A group of doctors and nurses working at the district medical association is being sent abroad for training. Thus, this institution will become a centre of training and practice for the staff of other district hospitals.
