Uzbekistan
An open dialogue with heads of information services of government bodies and organisations was held in Tashkent Region. The meeting took place as part of the training and practical seminar “Information Service Activities: Analysis, Experience and Development,” with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.
Participants critically reviewed the work of information units, discussed existing problems and identified priority tasks. Particular attention was paid to operating in a rapidly changing digital environment, where information services are expected to demonstrate speed, initiative and a high level of professional responsibility.
The discussions focused on delivering socially important information to the public in a timely, accurate and clear manner, as well as preparing in advance for possible crisis situations. Constructive cooperation with the media and maintaining a balance between information openness and security were also identified as priorities.
The seminar also reviewed the findings of an analytical study of government information services. Participants stressed that open engagement with journalists and the public is a core responsibility of information services, while the quality of this work is a key measure of their effectiveness. It was agreed to consolidate the proposals raised during the discussions and develop a concrete action plan for their implementation.
The seminar also featured presentations on the rational and effective use of artificial intelligence, content creation with digital tools, information analysis and improving communication processes. The aim is to expand the professional knowledge and experience of information-service specialists and build an open, trusted and effective dialogue with the public.
