Singapore has replaced Japan in the ranking of the world's most powerful passports

Singapore has officially become the holder of the world's most powerful passport: its citizens can visit 192 of 227 countries around the world without a visa. Previously, Japan was in first place. At the same time, Uzbekistan's passport is in 78th place, having risen five positions since the beginning of the year.
According to the latest ranking released by Henley Passport Index on Tuesday, Singapore has replaced Japan as the country with the most powerful passport in the world.
The Singapore passport allows visa-free entry to 192 of 227 countries around the world. Singapore last held the top spot in 2021, when visa-free entry was possible to 194 countries, while Japan ranked second with 193 destinations.
In 2022, the Republic of Singapore ranked second with the Republic of Korea with visa-free access to 192 destinations. Japan ranked first with 193 visa-free destinations.
In the latest ranking, Japan dropped to third place with visa-free access to 189 destinations worldwide. It shares its position with Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, the Republic of Korea and Sweden. Italy, Germany and Spain are in second place with visa-free access to 190 destinations.
At the bottom of the list is Afghanistan with visa-free access to 27 destinations. Yemen (99), Pakistan (100), Syria (101) and Iraq (102) round out the five outsiders.
