Uzbekistan and Sweden are entering a fundamentally new level of partnership that will allow thousands of Uzbek citizens to secure legal employment in Scandinavia, while enabling the domestic heavy industry to transition to cutting-edge European eco-standards. Following intergovernmental talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties signed a package of strategic documents, including an agreement on migration and mobility, as well as a declaration launching a pilot program designed to regulate migration flows and boost academic exchanges.

Sweden Opens Labor Market for Uzbekistan and Brings Eco-Tech for Mines
According to the Swedish delegation led by State Secretary Diana Janse, Stockholm intends to focus its investments on telecommunications, healthcare, and the mining sector. In the latter, Sweden is ready to provide unique high-tech equipment for safe and sustainable mineral extraction. As noted by the head of the Migration Agency, Bekhzod Musaev, the European market is currently experiencing an acute labor shortage, meaning Uzbek IT specialists and healthcare professionals will have the highest chances of legal employment in Sweden. In parallel, mechanisms of the National Board of Trade Sweden have been activated to increase purchases of Uzbek products, alongside planned joint projects in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
