On the sidelines of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, the Khokim of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held official talks with a US delegation led by Christine Kasper, Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh.
The parties primarily focused on deploying joint programs between this prestigious American research institution, which firmly ranks among the top 200 universities globally, and specialized medical institutions within the Fergana region. The regional leader expressed his readiness to consistently expand the partnership, noting the high efficiency of American methodologies in training nursing and mid-level medical personnel.
During the dialogue, special emphasis was placed on the strategic cooperation between the University of Pittsburgh and the Central Asian Medical University operating in Fergana. The sides coordinated the parameters for launching educational initiatives aligned with international standards. The core areas of this joint effort encompass the intensive study of foreign languages by students, the organization of comprehensive professional development programs, and practical internships for Uzbek specialists directly within US clinics and campuses. The members of the American delegation were also presented with an overview of the current capabilities of Fergana Region's medical centers and ongoing healthcare reforms, which is designed to establish a solid foundation for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
