Tashkent Celebrates Amir Timur’s 690th Anniversary with a Grand Parade
Uzbekistan
For one day, the capital of Uzbekistan transformed into a living historical stage: military units marched through the central streets, recreating the atmosphere of the era of the great commander.
A ceremonial procession was held in Tashkent to mark the 690th anniversary of the birth of Amir Timur. Units from various ministries and agencies within the Armed Forces participated in the event.
The march route stretched from the University of Military Security and Defense along Parkent and Mustaqillik Streets to Amir Timur Square.
The columns featured both modern military units and participants in historical costumes with weaponry from Amir Timur’s era. Special attention was drawn to the battle banners of the period and the reconstruction of the military appearance of that time.
The event program included theatrical performances, honor guard displays, demonstrations by hand-to-hand combat masters, as well as a military orchestra parade.
