In Tashkent, an event dedicated to the establishment of the Alliance of Logistics Centres and Freight Carriers under the auspices of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) took place on June 28 at the Hilton Hotel.
The event was attended by representatives of governmental bodies, experts from OTS member countries in logistics services, and the media.
The opening remarks were delivered by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States, moderator Mirvokhid Azimov, followed by speeches from representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the State Customs Committee, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They discussed the goals of establishing the Alliance and its significance for the economic growth of OTS member states.
The event also featured an open discussion among participants on "Creating Favourable Conditions in the Transport Sector in OTS Countries," allowing each participant to express their views, ask questions, and engage with organisers.
This event marked an important milestone in developing logistics infrastructure and strengthening cooperation among OTS member countries.
The Alliance of Logistics Centres and Freight Carriers under the OTS aims to promote the development of freight transport and logistics centres among OTS countries, uniting legal entities and individuals involved in logistics, freight transport, engineering, and consulting services in the field.
Additionally, the Alliance aims to enhance effective cooperation among major logistics centres, freight carriers, terminals, maritime, and land ports in Turkic countries, thereby increasing the region's transport and logistics potential through innovative solutions.
The Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) was established on October 3, 2009, based on the Nakhchivan Agreement, with its headquarters in Istanbul. Its members include Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, with Uzbekistan becoming a full member in 2019. Hungary and Turkmenistan hold observer status in the OTS.
The organisation's goal is to develop mutual trust, friendship, good neighbourly relations among Turkic-speaking states, ensure peace in the region, mutual support on the international stage, and comprehensive cooperation.
