In the advertisement distributed by the "Korzinka" supermarket chain, the phrase "The cheapest price is in Korzinka" is used. But it was observed that the prices of the same type of products sold in other supermarkets and farmers' markets are not different.
"Anglesey Food" LLC operating under the brand name of "Korzinka" supermarket chain was found guilty in the case initiated by the Special Commission of the Competition Committee for consideration of cases related to the violation of legislation on the protection of consumer rights and advertising. This was reported by the press service of the committee.
A financial fine was imposed on the enterprise in accordance with the established procedure, and it was also given an instruction to eliminate the cases of violation of the law regarding this advertisement within a period of one month.
The fact is that in the advertising information distributed by the "Korzinka" supermarket chain in various ways, "The cheapest price for daily purchases", "The cheapest price is in Korzinka", "... Come to the most productive!" was found to use wording that is misleading or likely to mislead users.
As a result of studying the information recorded in this advertising information, it became known that a catalog containing a certain number of products needed for daily needs was introduced as part of the campaign. Also, the Committee determined that the prices of the products included in this catalog were compared according to the results of monitoring of the prices of similar products in different supermarket chains and farmers' markets, and that the total price of the basket (catalogue) was taken for comparison, not for each product separately.
In particular, it was observed that the prices of certain types of products declared as "lowest price" do not differ from the prices of similar products sold in other supermarkets and farmers' markets. Advertising in this form is considered misleading or confusing to users of advertising.
