The French Alliance in Samarkand was inaugurated
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and French President Emmanuel Macron visited the branch of the French Alliance in Samarkand.

This non-governmental non-profit organization promoting French language and culture was founded in Paris in 1883 on the initiative of famous people of their time, such as Jules Verne and Louis Pasteur. Today there are more than 800 French Alliances in 137 countries around the world.

The first branch of the Alliance in our country was opened in the city of Tashkent in 2015. In order to further develop bilateral cooperation in the field of cultural and language exchange, the second branch was organized in Samarkand.

During the visit, the heads of state solemnly cut the ribbon and opened the center. The Presidents got acquainted with the capabilities of the modernly equipped center, which will organize courses in French language and literature and is able to accommodate up to 200 people wishing to join French culture.
