The Gaza ceasefire will take effect on Sunday, January 19, at 8:30 local time, according to a recent announcement by the spokesperson of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media.
In Majed Al Ansari’s post on X, he stated: “We advise residents to exercise extreme caution and wait for instructions from official sources. The timing has been coordinated between the agreement parties and mediators,” he said.
Residents of the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus breathed a sigh of relief as they watched their relatives in Gaza endure 15 months of suffering. The war in the besieged Palestinian territory is finally coming to an end.
“Hearing that the fighting will finally stop lifted our spirits. We have neither jobs nor money, but now we have something that brings us joy. You can now hear people laughing in the streets,” said 45-year-old Rbeia Abu Khmeida, a Palestinian refugee living in Yarmouk camp. The Guardian quickly reports about it.
