A meeting between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov took place on the sidelines of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Turkestan.
The meeting addressed pressing issues related to the further strengthening of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The dynamic growth of mutual trade and the advancement of cooperation projects in industry, agriculture, water management, and other priority sectors were noted with satisfaction. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
The practical implementation of high-level agreements was discussed, including measures to accelerate major regional projects in energy and transport connectivity, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The leaders also exchanged views on important aspects of the regional agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level events.
