He noted that the ongoing war in the Middle East will be on the agenda of the Council of Ministers, and the UN Security Council will hold meetings on conflicts in Ukraine, Syria, Libya and Yemen.

"Russian attacks on Ukraine have intensified in recent days and the situation in Ukraine is worsening every day. Unfortunately, Russia is targeting densely populated areas - hospitals, residential centres - and attacking civilians. There should be no civilian casualties in conflicts," de Rivière said.

The diplomat also expressed concern about the situation in the Gaza Strip:

"On the other hand, we are very concerned about the conflict in Gaza, international law is being violated in the region," he said.

Emphasising that efforts will be made to step up the parties' joint efforts to resolve the conflict, the ambassador said: "We know that we will not achieve great results in the four weeks of the Security Council presidency, but we will mobilise all forces to resolve the ongoing conflicts."
