Uzbekistan’s judokas delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Championships in Thailand, securing seven medals and taking second place in the overall team standings.
The Asian Judo Championship in Thailand is nearing its conclusion, and Team Uzbekistan has confidently secured its place among the leaders.
In the under 90 kg weight category, the final featured an all-Uzbek showdown between Shahzodkhuja Sharipov and Nurbek Murtazaev. In a tense match, Sharipov claimed the gold. Meanwhile, Marjona Kuchimova earned a bronze medal in the under 78 kg category.
As a result of the individual events, our athletes collected a total of 2 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, which placed Team Uzbekistan second in the overall medal standings, trailing only Japan.
Tomorrow, the competition will continue with the mixed team events.
