President Visits Modern Pharmaceutical Facility in Almazar
The Head of State’s decree "On additional measures for the accelerated development of the pharmaceutical industry," dated January 28, 2025, is facilitating the expansion of the industry's production capabilities and the adoption of modern technologies.

The work being carried out at the "RomPharm NS" facility, located in Tashkent’s Almazar district, is particularly noteworthy.

The facility's primary objective is to supply the domestic market with high-quality pharmaceutical products and to increase the production volume of import-substituting medicines. Future plans include raising annual production capacity to 1 billion tablets, 500 million capsules, and 120 million sachets.

This facility is one of the first complexes in Central Asia to feature a full production cycle and a quality control laboratory established in accordance with European Union GMP standards.

The total project cost is 45 million euros. Spanning an area of 1.7 hectares, the facility has created 150 new jobs. Ninety percent of the production process is automated, utilizing modern equipment supplied from Italy, Germany, Austria, the USA, Switzerland, and Bulgaria.

The products manufactured at the facility are entirely focused on import substitution. Priority is given to producing medicines used in neurology and cardiology, as well as those for regulating metabolic processes and treating inflammatory diseases.

While reviewing the facility's operations, the Head of State emphasized the importance of expanding production capacities through modern technology and supplying the domestic market with high-quality pharmaceuticals. He noted that the main goals are to reduce import dependency and create new jobs within the sector.

A presentation outlining the facility's future plans was also given to the President during the visit.
