The President of Tajikistan tours the historical monuments of Bukhara

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who is in our country on a state visit, is visiting the historical monuments of Bukhara together with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Ancient Bukhara has long been renowned for its outstanding historical, architectural, and cultural treasures, serving for centuries as a center of scholarship, Islamic theology, and spirituality. The city's historic center, which is over 2,500 years old, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
The distinguished guest, accompanied by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, first visited the Mausoleum of Bahauddin Naqshband.
The complex is one of the greatest shrines in the Islamic world. It was formed on the burial site of Bahauddin Naqshband, the founder of the Naqshbandi tariqah, and today includes a mausoleum, a khanaka, mosques, a necropolis, and a museum of the history of Sufism. It was particularly noted that the noble principle of Bahauddin Naqshband's teachings—"Dil ba yoru, dast ba kor"—calls people to diligence and spiritual purity.
Then a visit was made to the Samanid Mausoleum.
This monument is one of the oldest structures in Central Asia built of baked brick. It was built in the late 9th to early 10th centuries by Ismail Samani, the founder and first ruler of the Samanid Empire, as a family tomb.
Its architectural design reflects not only Islamic traditions but also pre-Islamic ones, including elements of Sogdian culture. It was noted that the mausoleum's patterns play with different shades depending on the sunlight, and the building's cube-domed composition symbolically embodies the unity of Earth and Heaven.
Thanks to the thickness of its walls, reaching almost two meters, and the high quality of its bricks, this unique monument has been well preserved to this day.
During visits to the mausoleums, suras from the Quran were recited. Duas were offered for the repose of the departed and for peace and prosperity for our peoples.
