The President of Uzbekistan advocated for expanding technological and investment partnerships with China

At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of leading Chinese companies and financial institutions, led by Wang Hongzhi, Director General of the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China.
The meeting was attended by the heads of China Energy Engineering Corporation, China Datang, Sinoma Energy Conservation, China Southern Power Grid, CAMCE, CNNC, State Nuclear Uranium Resource Development, as well as the Export-Import Bank of China and Bank of China.
The parties discussed promoting mutually beneficial high-tech projects in energy and geology, as well as expanding practical partnerships in banking and finance.
The head of state noted with deep satisfaction the rapid growth of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in trade, economic, and investment.
Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has exceeded $6 billion, and over $8 billion in Chinese direct investment has been utilized. Nearly 6,000 joint ventures are successfully operating in our country.
Particular attention was paid to promoting green energy projects. With the participation of the aforementioned Chinese companies, solar and wind power plants, as well as energy storage systems, are being built in Uzbekistan.
Plans to accelerate these projects and launch new initiatives, including expanding photovoltaic capacity, implementing agrovoltaics, and constructing power transmission lines, were supported.
Particular attention was given to cooperation in waste-based energy generation and the development of modern technological solutions, including the creation of modern data centers.
An exchange of views took place on prospects for cooperation in the mining and geological sectors. This included joint exploration and development of deposits, as well as establishing a long-term partnership in the supply of critical raw materials.
A separate set of negotiations was devoted to expanding financial cooperation with major Chinese banks. Issues of financing infrastructure projects, modernizing irrigation systems, constructing high-speed highways and hydroelectric power plants, supplying agricultural machinery, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses were discussed.
The meeting participants thanked the head of our state for the proactive dialogue and reaffirmed their commitment to the unconditional implementation of the agreements reached.
