The President of Uzbekistan approved new measures to support labour migration

A decree by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been announced, clearly outlining the provision of medical, social, legal, and consular services to Uzbek citizens working temporarily or residing abroad. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations of Uzbekistan.

Starting from June 1, 2024, citizens registered in the electronic labour migration system "Work Abroad" and embarking on organized labour migration will receive compensation:

Up to 3 times the monthly minimum wage to cover expenses related to exams in foreign languages and professional qualifications;
Up to 5 times the monthly minimum wage for expenses related to obtaining a work visa;
Up to 2 times the monthly minimum wage for a ticket.
By September 1, 2024, a round-the-clock call center will be established to provide assistance to compatriots working temporarily abroad. Calls for subscribers from abroad will be toll-free.

In 2024-2025, it is planned to open agency offices in the United Kingdom (London), Germany (Berlin), Türkiye (Istanbul), and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh).

Starting from June 1, 2024, an enterprise hiring returnees from labour migration will receive a monthly subsidy of 500,000 sums per employee for one year.

Additionally, a mobile application will be developed for temporary workers abroad, allowing them to share information about their country of residence and vacancies, communicate with compatriots online, make money transfers, and seek assistance from organizations helping citizens facing difficult life situations.
