On May 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djurić, who was visiting our country.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to the head of state.

Prospects for further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries were discussed in the context of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level in October 2025.

The active contacts at the government, parliamentary, and business levels, as well as the expansion of humanitarian exchanges, were noted with satisfaction.

Priority is given to increasing trade turnover and developing a full-scale cooperation program in key sectors such as mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, information technology, agriculture, tourism, and many others.

To advance the economic cooperation agenda, an agreement was reached to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Belgrade this year.

Cooperation in organized labor migration, culture, and education were discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on current regional and international issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
