The President of Uzbekistan took part in the first summit "Central Asia – Germany"

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the first summit of leaders of Central Asian countries and Germany, which was chaired by Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in Berlin on September 29.
In accordance with the agenda of the summit, prospects for expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the development of “green” energy and adaptation to climate change, issues of protection of natural resources and the environment, as well as joint efforts to ensure sustainable and consistent regional development were discussed.
The participants of the event noted that the format "Central Asia – Germany" has become an effective platform for open dialogue and the formation of a new agenda of cooperation between the countries of the region and Germany.
The Head of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the current level of regional cooperation in Central Asia and noted that Uzbekistan consistently implements a policy of strengthening good neighborliness, mutual trust and cooperation. It was highly appreciated that Germany has played an important role in providing practical assistance to the countries of the region since the first days of independence. Priority directions of long-term cooperation of regional significance are outlined.
These are the development of investment, innovation and technological ties and exchange, the introduction of renewable energy sources, deep processing of raw materials, strengthening transport and communication links, promoting the "green" agenda for various industries in accordance with German standards, training specialists, providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
The leaders of the Central Asian countries supported the proposal of the German side to establish a strategic regional partnership between Central Asia and Germany, holding regular meetings and consultations in this format.
