President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the Belarusian leader at the sports complex.

The meeting in the ice palace has a deep symbolic significance. Alexander Lukashenko is a great fan of ice hockey, pays special attention to the development of this sport in Belarus, has personally participated in ice hockey matches more than once.

Uzbekistan is also working hard to develop winter sports, including ice hockey. In 2019, on the initiative of our Head of State, a multifunctional sports complex, Humo Arena, was erected. The Tashkent-based Humo team has been successfully playing in international and continental tournaments, including against the Neman club from the Belarusian city of Grodno.

During the visit, the Presidents watched a match between hockey teams - Tashkent's Humo and Nomad from Astana. At the end of the meeting, the high-ranking guests were presented with personalised hockey uniforms.

The main events of the visit are scheduled for tomorrow, 8 February.
