Three Uzbek Universities Ranked Among the World’s Best

The Ministry of Higher Education of Uzbekistan announced that three national universities have been included in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025 by Subject. This achievement highlights Uzbekistan's progress in integrating its higher education system into the global arena.
For the first time, three universities from Uzbekistan were simultaneously ranked, achieving notable results across various academic disciplines.
- Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME) ranked among the world’s best universities in two categories: “Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics” (301–400th place) and “Engineering” (501–600th place).
- The National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) was placed in the 601–800 range in the category of “Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics,” reaffirming its leading role in fundamental sciences.
- Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) was ranked in “Education” (601+) and “Computer Science and Programming” (1001+).
The inclusion of Uzbek universities in the THE ranking demonstrates their international competitiveness and underscores the success of educational reforms aimed at enhancing quality and global recognition.
The Ministry of Higher Education emphasized that this milestone will inspire universities in Uzbekistan to further improve and align their educational standards with global benchmarks.
