The Uzbekistan national team successfully began its performance at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool: Nigina Uktamova entered the ring first and brought victory to the team.

The World Boxing Championships have begun in Liverpool, England. Uzbekistan’s first representative to enter the ring was Nigina Uktamova, competing in the under-54 kg category. She secured a confident victory over Kazakhstan’s Elina Bazarova, advancing to the next stage of the tournament.

On the second day of competition, three more Uzbek boxers will step into the ring. In the 57 kg division, Khumorabonu Mamajonova will face Lai-Carlile Ali of New Zealand. In the 50 kg category, Shodiyorjon Melikuziev will take on Nawaf Awaji of Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, in the super heavyweight division (+90 kg), Jahongir Zokirov will meet Murad Kadi of Algeria.

Uktamova’s victory sets a positive tone for the national team, raising hopes for further strong performances at the world stage.
