The Central Bank has included the Paynet payment system in the register of the "regulatory sandbox," as reported by the regulator's press service. This will allow cash withdrawals from cards at Paynet checkout counters. The trial period will start on June 1st and run until December 1st, 2023.
Previously, the same practice was launched in the retail network "Korzinkauz", with the pilot project scheduled to run from May 1st to November 1st.
It should be noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev allowed an experiment with cash withdrawals on cards through his decree in March. According to the document, retail outlets and service establishments in Tashkent will be able to provide this service if they have a virtual cash register.
The Central Bank approved the procedure for testing financial services in the "sandbox" mode in the fall of 2022. It was noted that this would expand the range of services and promote competition among banks and other organizations.
