Two Russian speed skaters plan to change their sports citizenship and compete for Uzbekistan. This was reported by the President of the Russian Speed Skating Union (RSSU), Nikolai Gulyaev, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to TASS.
Earlier, Russian long-distance speed skater Danila Semerikov, a medalist at world and European championships, announced his intention to compete for Uzbekistan.
"I have applications, from whom, I won't say yet, although the country is the same - Uzbekistan," said Gulyaev. "Two men. Same sport, different disciplines. I can't say more for now."
"I don't have a biased attitude towards them, there are regulations, rules of transition," added the head of the RSSU.
